Are you getting married in your 20's, 30's, 40's or beyond? No matter what age you are, there is a song, a band or maybe even a musical obsession that in some way is a part of who you are. Sure, a great DJ will play the songs that will get your guests up and dancing but do they have a special meaning to you? I remember cruising around in my car as a teen. The windows were down, the car was full of my friends and we would crank up some great songs. Now, years later, if I hear one of those songs it puts me back in that car with my friends. I can almost smell the summer air. Music will always create an emotion. It may be a current song that you may just like to sing to at work or it may be a trip down memory lane. Create a list of some of your favorites and share them with your entertainer. Make your special day a part of who you are. Why not take a trip down memory lane while you are creating memories of a lifetime!

Budgeting For Your Entertainment
One of the often overlooked processes in planning your wedding is creating a wedding budget. There are countless details in every wedding. Some parts of your plans are high priority and important such as venue choice and location, dinner menu, and the brides dress. Then there are the numerous small details that really tie the entire event together. But every part of your day has a cost.
In the overall percentage of a wedding budget, entertainment is only going to account for a small portion of your overall budget. But in terms of your overall wedding experience, the value of great entertainment is the largest percentage of a great experience. Music plays a huge part in any celebration. From the first note of a ceremony to the last note of the final dance, music helps guide the mood and tone of a wedding.
It's important to look at all the costs associated with the entertainers that you are interviewing for your big day. But it is equally important to make sure that, whatever your budget may be, you are getting the entertainment company that will keep you dancing and make it the celebration of a lifetime.

The Grand Entrance
It's your wedding day. You just officially tied the knot. Now it's off for some photo's while the rest of your guests mingle and enjoy some music over cocktails. As cocktail hour ends and your guests make their way into the reception, it is now time for your Grand Entrance. There is no better time to set the stage for what is going to be a fun and exciting night than the wedding parties Grand Entrance into the reception. This is where you get to be creative. Put a little thought into how you've always wanted to enter the room on your wedding day. Do you want to showcase each and every bridesmaid and groomsman as they enter? I think it's fun! Do you want your wedding party to enter in pairs with just the announcement of their names? How are you going to enter the room?
IT"S YOUR DAY!! Make it fun. Pick great music and dance into the room like no one is watching. Spend the time working with your entertainer to make sure all the details of your grand entrance are nothing short of the best.

What's in a Song?
"What song should I play during the cake cutting?"
"What song do you recommend for the Father/Daughter dance?"
There are many times during the reception when a song choice is needed. Introductions, First Dance, and Parent Dances are just a few. There are no rules when it comes to selecting a song. Do not settle for a song just because it's popular. Spend some time re-living your past and make notes of some meaningful songs that were a big part of your life and who you are. Almost all musical genre's have a place somewhere in your special day. A favorite rock song from high school may fit nicely during the cocktail hour. Dad's favorite Jazz song could be played during dinner. You get the point. Have fun, be creative and work with someone who can bring your ideas to life.

The Art of a Reception
One of the funnest parts about being a DJ is people watching. If you do things right, do them at the right time, and do them the right way you will see emotions only experienced a few times in ones life. After all, a wedding is a once is a lifetime event for the Bride and Groom. Sitting down to plan with the Bride and Groom and bringing their thoughts and ideas to life is great, but you need to understand the art and flow to a successful reception. Everything must happen at a certain time during the night and for the right reasons to bring the celebration to life, to bring out the magic in the event. I am not saying at 7:03 PM while the Bride is catching up with her Best Friend from College that you pull her away to toss the bouquet. I'm saying there is a rhythm, a pattern, a design, to making the reception a work of art. The best part? If you hire the right people to be a part of your day, you wont even know how it happened, you just won't be able to wipe that smile off your face.
